Baled my last bale yesterday

Yesterday afternoon I baled my last bale of hay. I have a guy that I sold all my hay to this year that wants to buy my haying equipment and my Massey 255. I still have a mower, tedder and side delivery rake extra that I am selling before long. This old body, after having Lyme disease and being 77 in a few days along with the wife's health the last 3 months has made the decision for me. I don't want too but I guess I'll have to be content to just buy and sell a little equipmnet along. She'd like to travel a little too so that's what we'll probably do.

You make me feel like a wimp I sold mime at 65 .the equipment needed updated the wife's horses all got old and passed away so I just sold 4x4 round bales for a couple years after that stored them inside for horse people. I only made about 75 a year my neighbor got a gas well that paid big money he bought all new equipment so I let him take it over and just took a percentage of it didn't have any help anyway had to do it all myself so it worked out good for both of us.

Probably a wise decision. My BIL apparently never considered doing that. He got run over by his tractor and corn planter last year. He still tried to do the things he did when he was younger and died a horrible death at 74.

It's a transition like many others in your life, you will adjust and learn to enjoy the new adventures ahead of you. Make some new memories with the wife to fill your minds when your at home. The wife and I still talk about our travels in the West.

I just turned 75 and I'm considering cutting back. It's just too hard for me to get as much done and my helper, think wife, retired on me this year. I hired some local kids for the first time and it worked out pretty well. I still like the tractor work but it's too hard for me to get the wagons stacked and into the barn.
