Battery Desulfating - Does it work?

Does desulfating work?
The jury is still out on the answer.
5 years ago I bought a new 2018 XT5,
The battery is an AGM, sealed maintenance free battery.
I used this meter and measured the cranking amps, 1080 ca.

5 years later the battery shows 780 ca. Look at the battery, it rated at 730 cca. This battery is in a warm garage and CA is also determined by temperature.
This is the only meter that I own that can measure cranking amps.
Some people think this meter is junk. I trust it.
Cranking amps vary with temperature too.

About a month ago, after returning from Florida, I measured all my batteries in one pole barn.
Some batteries showed a big improvement using just a charger.
Some old batteries showed little improvement using a charger.
Some batteries showed little improvement using this charger with desulfation abilities.

I find leaving a smart charger on a battery for weeks does as much good as desulfating.

I had a VW air cooled bug. The battery was the original battery when I sold the car. 12 year old battery. No desulfating back then.

I think sometimes you get good batteries and sometimes you don't.

The jury is still out when it comes to desulfating. I can't see it doing any harm.
