Well, not real big...
I promised my neighbor I would fix her bird bath months ago but never got around to it.
It is the crudest piece of cast iron junk I have ever seen. Not worth fixing and not a good way to clamp it to drill it either.
But I was tired of it laying on my work bench. It was made in 3 pieces - base, stem and water dish.
I guess 4 pieces with the little bird.
So I grabbed a hand drill and drilled out the broken off studs that hold it together.
Then tapped new threads and put new studs in it.
It was all rusty and nasty looking too.
So I found some white spray paint in the cabinet and slathered a couple coats of that on.
And it just so happened that I had rattle canned the new fuel tank for my pal Kenny's tractor yesterday. And the yellow paint was still close at hand. So I gave the bird a squirt of that.
When people learn you can fix stuff they stop by for a little help.
Even if you don't think it's worth doing, you still gotta spend a half hour and do something for them like you tried.
And sometimes when you look at it afterwards you can say it might have been time well spent. And you're glad you have those neighbors after all.

You the Dog, man! That is the plaque of the Fixit Man. I have to ignore calls from certain neighbors - until I can't anymore. But it is what we are happy to help with. I call it Community Service! steve

Yes, and that's a sure way to change neighbors to friends. Good job !
