Blow-by at the spark plug.

Good evening,
Recently, I've been trying to get my late father's 1952 John Deere B up and running again.
I rebuilt the carb, cleaned up the magneto and successfully got it to fire and run.
I could hear something amiss so I started looking around and found a fair amount of air leaking past one of the new spark plugs.
I tried to tighten up the plug, but I can tell that it's seated as far as it can go so I don't want to over tighten it.
What are some of my options here?
Can you install a Heli-Coil on an old cast iron John Deere block??

Thanks for any advice you can offer me.

I'd start by running an appropriately sized spark plug thread chaser into the port, and check the gasket seating area for debris or damage.
