Hello to all,
In a thread from 58 Deere on August 4, 2015, it was being discussed the correct colors of the John Deere 435D. Buickanddeere mentioned that all that left with Spin Out Adjustable Wheels were painted silver. Buickanddeere stated it somewhat in that manner and also said something about “not believing that” in his response. Well, I did not believe that and every time I see a 435D restored with them wheels, like Mike M said, “Yuk”. What was John Deere thinking here ??? I am glad I never responded to Buickanddeere because he was right on the money, kudos. But like Mike M, or in the case of the 10 - 34 offering of wheels, I like the yellow only, this, more like Deere and Company had been doing for a few years. Silvers looks like a Farmall or a McCormick paint scheme, I had a cotton picker like that once. My 435D has the adjustable wheels and I could never believe it ever had silver wheels. I left the post and the forum alone and went and scoured every picture in the owners manual, even in black and white, it just appears as the wheels on pages 35 and 38 appear to be yellow paint, I went on and left that subject alone. So just this morning I went out as mine is a relic and sits out full time in the weather, it has aging paint and a little rusting through the paint of the rear wheels. When looking I noticed a stripe of a second color appearing under the yellow paint. Sure as can be, a run of paint appeared and was showing to me that indeed, the wheels were painted silver and it did come from the factory that way. Hats off to you Buickanddeere, it pays not to open your mouth if you are not sure of the facts. Glad I did not respond. I was somewhat angered when you stated that, I had never seen a sign of silver paint in forty five years. It has taken another nine years to figure this out. I even flaked off a piece of paint from the rolled bead and sure enough there was silver paint under the backside of the yellow. Amazing what time can do, like the ocean every now and then gives something up. Will try to send pics of the flake and the runs. Jess,
