I have a older pull type Bush Hog brand rotary cutter that I would like to find a gear box. Can not find a model #, but would say it is in the 50s or 60's year model. Approximately 40 HP. Any one know a source for this or a pic to see if it is like mine to get a part number from? Thank you.

Gear boxes can look alike but be different. Even if you find a picture of one that looks like yours you should remove the blade holder and measure up the shaft where it goes into the holder to be sure more than looks match up. Straight or tapered, splined (count), keyed, or plain? Also measure up the mounting holes and input shaft.

What width cut is yours? You could post a picture of yours and see if anyone recognizes it.

Once you have it measured up look at surplus center and Agri Supply they both have some cutter parts. I think Surplus Center has more for gear boxes though. Agri Supply has a good Selection of PTO shafts for them.

Thank you guys. I found pics of it and it looks like a 512. I could not find any gear boxes made anything like the one that is on the machine. I was hoping to find a cheap box, but I think I can save mine if I have too. It is a great machine for cutting around in the open woods areas.
