Can finally talk of it. Longish.

(quoted from post at 02:58:33 08/29/23) Not too long ago someone told me that Jesus was just outside my door. All I had to do was open the door and let him in. I did, and he and his will have been with me since.
I will pray that you might do the same.
The Bible is teaching me to live with lifes pain and burden.
Ill pray that you find peace, wisdom, and understanding.

This man nailed it completely. There is no real solace other than a close personal relationship with Christ. He is right there but is a gentleman and will not come in unless invited. Please get to a quiet comfortable place and have a real conversation with Him today. He is the true sovereign Lord over all of creation and the risen Savior of all of us who will accept his love.

You will be in my prayers. I hope it has helped to tell your story and begin healing. Ironically, I lost my wife of 46yrs. exactly one year ago. I send out updates every few months to family and friends. It kinda helps keep things in perspective. Also.....I need to get some work or rehab on my right shoulder, but was unable to until recently. I am 20yrs. older than you, so if I can do it so can you. I would get several opinions before deciding on therapies or surgery. I am currently trying to start therapy and swimming. Best of luck on your journey.

You are going to be recovering, and as you do keep those of your relatives and associates that you can trust in mind, and ask for help. Vultures can be fledged into reality by greed. Keeping them away might be the first step in smoothing your psychology. Changing locks, and dead bolts are possibly needed. Keep your spirits positive. Jim

Mike,

I first read your post last night. Was very tired and not having a good night, so have been processing your post since.

In one way or another I've been through everything you've mentioned short of losing my wife. But all at once? That's more than anyone should ever have to deal with alone! My struggle with those things sounds mild compared with what you mention. I've read your post to my wife and we've pondered and cried and pondered some more. It's not much, but there's one small recommendation that I can offer. If you like, send me an email and we can go from there.

After I lost my wife last year......I inherited her daily spiritual reading materials and books. I now have a quiet time every day to use them and have some quiet time with our Creator......it has REALLY helped.

Prayers sent. It was hard when I lost my wife and still is but I still am relatively healthy and have good family around. I had a friend that had the reverse shoulder replacement and he is doing great. Keep the faith and believe that the future is in God's hands. We may not like what He plans for us but if we trust Him eternity is bright.

No need to be sorry about the long post. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. Lord knows that maybe someday I may have health issues and need support. May the healing grace of our Lord be with you throughout this difficult time. God Bless you my friend.

Mike, I am 55 years old and wast just diagnosed with esophageal cancer in June of this year. I am getting the best possible treatment here at Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. My situation doesnt come close to yours no doubt. I will pray for you and your family. There is a lot of wonderful people on this site that truly care about others. So dont worry about writing about yourself in this post. I am sorry for your loss also. Put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ above and he will carry you through this difficult time as he is doing with me now. Take care.

Mike I pray that Jesus blesses you with Hope ,Peace and Joy as you go through this dark time. I pray you surrender to Jesus . I pray that your pain will be light. Jesus commands you to be strong and courageous.Don't be terrified.Don't be discouraged be cause Lord God will be with you wherever you go. Lord I pray that you will be at his side in his lonley times. Let Mike feel your presence. Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so might overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen! My favorite quote: You'll never know that God is all you need until God is all you got.
If there is anything I can do email me.
Thank you for sharing your story.

Mike…..you surely have my prayers and will mention you in my rosaries. You may think your not but You are much stronger than you give your credit for. God has a plan and we often fail to understand HIS plan but we must Believe and have Faith in his Will. Best regards. Wingnut. (Keith)

Saw another's post concerning life changing event. It gave me courage to tell my yr long issues. My wife of 20yrs was diagnosed with her 4th cancer in 7/22. The cancer was found between back bone and stomach. Tumor are into stomach wall leaking poison in. A 20 Guage feeding tube was installed to use as a drain into a bag. Chemo started mid Aug. 1st treatment caused both lungs getting blood clots. I am a 3d shifter at local universary. Not much Vaca time doing to appointments and such. For 4 nights I work go 20 miles to sit with wife. Go home midday to sleep then start over. 8/27/22 I was on way home had a 1 car accident. Cause was sleep or low blood sugar. Minor repair to right eye socket. Neck damage that was started with age and misspent youth. C4,5,6, removed and fused in 3/23. Now hardest repair coming. Right reverse shoulder replacement. Of 4 major muscles in shoulder I only have deltoid in place. This has left that arm with extreme limited range of motion and strength. Unless I can spider walk right figures above shoulder height I can't reach. Left shoulder had a muscle tear in 2020 that hadn't fully healed but wasn't terrible.till now. During all my issues Shelly was cleared of clots and went back to chemo.2 days a week.at that time she showed no sign of being sick. Then April came. Stronger chemo needed. 3 treatments their goes hair. Week break she wants to see smokies. Easter weekend takes us to gatlingburg. Sunday she can't even get out of bed. Turning yellow. Monday come home talking to Dr. While driving. Says take her to our hospital. Tests show liver
Bile duct is partially blocked, 2 more drain tube installed pencil sized. That was start of the end. Weaknes sickness. I was able to keep her home.last week friends helped with bathing as I was afraid I would drop her. I lost her 232pm 5/17/2023. Her 4 siblings became vultures trying to take things before she past. I had to call for help to keep them in room with me or on front deck. At service they took plants and garden art that was to go to my house. It was on card with. Since I been alone.i have a brother but his family and work keep him on his toes. Cousins are to far away. Friends that were helping have stepped back are there if needed. As a 57 yr old I'm really scared for my future. I am so limited in what I can do. Will it get better? Dr says I should go to a nursing facility with physical therepy for 12 weeks. I am asking for prayers because i appreciate you all for the uplifting comments. This is an awesome group. Bless and pray for the folks that need the help and the folks that are providing help and care. This is the 1st I been able to tell this. Sorry so long.
Condolences for the loss of your wife. Prayers sent for a positive outcome and speedy recovery for you.

I can’t imagine loosing my wife that young praying for you that must be so much harder than the physical pain you have had to deal with. You have made it through the hardest thing a man can go through. There are some support systems at churches and other groups around here for dealing with a loss of that magnitude. Seeking them out is the hard part once you are there you will wonder why you waited. I lost my grandpa early at 58 actually and there was no warning. Grandmas life is different but it has been a good second half. We never know what he’s got in store for us but we are in it all together
