Case 310C Dozer Parts Sources

To cut a very long story short. After being out of the family since the late 70s, yesterday dad and I were finally able to buy back the 310 gas dozer my great grandpa Roundy bought new. It’s had 2 In between then and now. The guy that initially bought it off my grandpa had it sent to a Case dealer south of Chicago and had the undercarriage completely gone through and the engine was supposedly overhauled at the time as well. It’s blatantly obvious the undercarriage is new. It has the updated solid sprockets with absolutely no wear. Dad remembers it still having the spoked sprockets when grandpa had it. The rails are new and the grousers are new. No wear on any of it. That being the case we have no reason to believe the engine overall wasn’t just a story either. Now the bad news. The second owner got the crawler with the property when he bought it. He is not an equipment guy and he said it took him 2 years to even get the courage to get on it and start it. It had been living in a stone floor shed. Well the guy wanted to concrete the floor so he pulled the dozer out and it’s been sitting outside under a tarp on bare dirt ever since. That’s been 10-12 years ago. So now those nice new tracks are froze solid which is gonna be fun to correct. He had it running last year but he said it ran poorly. Probably a symptom of water in the fuel from the cap rusting out, and the wiring being a nightmare. Has an Earl Schibe paint job on it that is ok but definitely needs redone once the mechanical work is over. We are an Oliver family so this is our first venture into Case territory. Just wondering where the good parts sources are going to be for this thing? Hopefully aside from the tracks it won’t need much more than some very extensive TLC to have her going again. Time will tell.

Depends what you need. Start by cataloguing every listed and unlisted barn of rusty parts within 500 miles...or more:)
When you get to it, post all the serial numbers, year for us. Pics are appreciated (mandatory?)! Tracks should be fine once persuaded but the rollers could be trouble if they're face-sealed. Tap on them first to break the rust?
There are several owners of similar/compatible machines on this forum as well as parts stockers. I, myself, have a few decent parts (small idler support brackets, some six-spline final drive stuff, other) but in western Canada so mailing could be more than the parts.
The gas engine is out of my league but there are many here who can help with that.
I believe the OC-3 has the same tranny/differential (but with differing drums). As I think you may already know, there are at least some interchangable parts from the TerraTracs thru the 310 E, F. and G, 350's right up to even to the 450 (not much).
If you're looking for machined drive parts I'd go with an honest used partsman like the one whom I hope will reply here soon for you. Only 50 percent of the new stuff they sell online (RAP origin) is properly machined so be prepared to check it. The old stuff is better steel anyway.
If you google for salvage yards, you'll find pages of websites like Wenger's just to name one.
Your engine inquiries could belong in this subforum, but did you notice the Crawler forum for the machine?
Have fun and keep us posted.
