Case 411 Carb leaking like nuts

I have a Case 411 the other morning I walked out of the mud room and the smell of gasoline filled the air.
It turns out my 411 Carb is leaking like nuts.

I pulled it off the tractor, cleaned the carb. (it looked really good to begin with but I cleaned it even more)
Put the carb back on the tractor and YES it fired right up and ran like a top.
I shut the gas off at the glass bowl

3 days later I turned the gas back on, and the carb. and immediately it started leaking like nuts again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

U got a bad float or a leaking needle and seat. Have u checked these ?

Most likely your float is hanging up or may have a pin hole, since you've cleaned it and it's doing the same thing. Check your float for side to side play that would allow it to touch the wall of the bowl. The leaking carburetor has happened so many times on me that every gas tractor I have I've put a 1/8"nptf x 1/8" nptm ball valve on them. I order them from Ebay for around five dollars and keep a couple spares for my 'next' tractors. Now the only problem is my memory but I'm getting better.

Thanks for the reply
Yes I did check them both. I even used a "jeweler's eye" to check and make sure the needle didn't have a scratch in it. I did not find any scratches.
I found ALMOST no junk in the carb. but I gave it a good cleaning anyway.

I don't think it is a pin hole. The only reason I think that is not is because the gas is leaking out of the hole that the choke cable is connected to, so it is pretty high up.

I did not check the side to side play in the float that is a new one on me (THANKS FOR THAT TIP)!! Is there an accepted tolerance that you know of?

Also, I love the idea of the ball valve.

Same happened to me. Float was dragging or sticking on inside of carb bowl. Look for scuff marks on inside area of the float. Spread them out slightly if that is the case.

When you say "Spread them out" do you mean spread them out so they are not, in effect, pinching on the inside of the carb.?

Just so you aren't doing it blind folded, you could mark the inside of the float with a crayon or chalk and see if it leaves a mark on the inside part of the bowl. Some folks do the rattle test, by shaking the carb to see if the float moves. I did that, but I am guessing the shake is a lot more powerful than the float action itself as mine was surely sticking.

You need to check the float level setting and the float stop setting. That’s all that’s left. Plus just hold the float centred in the bowl and you will see how close it is to the edges. Seldom that’s a problem. Turn the top half upside down and make sure to float is perpendicular to the cane base. As for float drop u want it stopping basically as it opens. Not so it hits the bottom of the bowl.
