New to this forum (or any forum for that matter). I'm looking to buy a Case 420b-h tractor loader locally. The tractor starts and runs, the loader hydraulics work fine but the tractor won't move. The current owner believes it is the pressure relief valve for the transmission. He believes this because he had this issue before. The relief valve had come apart. He found all the parts inside the tranny case and retrieved them using a magnet. He discovered the snap rings did not fit snugly in the grooves allowing it to come apart. He found snap rings he believed provided a snugger fit and reassembled everything. It worked fine for some time but then the same thing happened again. He looked but was unable to find a replacement relief valve. He believes it is unavailable. IF the relief valve could cause this issue AND if someone knows where I could find one, I'd buy this old tractor. Otherwise, the tractor is useless to me or anyone else. Any ideas or input would be eagerly accepted. Thanks!
