Case 480B Construction King Delco Remy starter 1109149

I have a 1975 Case 480B Construction King backhoe I inherited when my Dad passed. The starter is a Delco Remy 1109149. Does anyone know what starter will interchange with this starter or where I can find a repair kit-bushings, brushes, etc.? The motor is a 4 cylinder and I believe is an 181.

The 1109149 is a Delco Remy type 20MT starter. This site's store may have a starter if you call them, not everything is listed. A parts store should be able to cross it to the rebuilt line they carry. They may be able to get the parts you want for your starter. A search using the part number turns up some sources. Using 20MT gets some sources. The center bushing on some of the older ones maybe a smaller OD than the later ones, which are in some kits. Some kits supply the center support with the bushing in it.

In my opinion you would be much better off to get the Nippon gear reduction starter. They are much more powerful and can be bought online for less than you will get into a repair, you will have to massage the power steering lines a slight bit for clearance and wires may need to be changed a bit but you will never be sorry. Just google it and they are all over the internet.
