Cat 955h age and voltage

Working on 955h serial number 12A347, I know it’s old but can’t get a year so far. Only has pony motor and I am not sure of the voltage, 12 or 24.

The 955 serie 12a is 12 volts and and should be rouand 1958 and the 955h with poney is 12 volts too and should be over 1960

My memory is probably fading but as I recall all pony start Cats were 6 volts positive ground, the 955H power shift when it was introduced was the Rolls-Royce of loaders back in the day, you were a favorite driver to get to run one.

The only 955 with the '12A' series having 3 digits after the A, is a 955E according to my serial # book. This would make it a 1955 model. If it says 955H on a decal it may have come with a new paint job somewhere along the years.

The 955 h is power shift and 12a is direct drive

955 H came out in 1960. 12A ended the same year..
