I own a Allis Chalmers 6040 with a perkins 3.152 engine. I purchased the tractor in not running condition. The fuel cap was missing and rain water was in the tank, fuel lines had burst from freezing. Engine did turn over. I replaced the lift pump, and took the injection pump apart. It was very damaged so I ordered a new one, installed it and primed the system. I got it to start and run. I then though I should get the injectors looked at before running this for any amount of time. I saw some post where Diesel Tech answered questions about The Cav injection pump and wish get get some help. The old injection pump is DPA 3230F350, Set SW57/700/6/2390. The one I purchased is DPA 3230F350, Set SW51.0L 500/6/2470. I also have some numbers on the injectors. BKBL67S5299 and under that DES No 5281613. Do I need to modify my Injection Pump to work with these injectors, or replace these injectors with something else, or nothing but rebuild the current injectors. When I started it the first time I moved the throttle to 3/4 and got fuel out the exhaust, flooding it. I got it to start by just cracking the fuel alittle. It started and ran, no black smoke, when I rev it quickly alittle white smoke that immediately goes away. I have since adjusted the valves but haven't started it since because I am waiting for some new gaskets for the timing cover. The valves were set too tight and are now set by the book. Thank you for any input.

Hello Yellowmater, welcome to YT! Adding the @ in front of a username will alert them to the reference in your thread. @Dieseltech This should lead him to stop by your post. Also the letter or envelope icon at the top right is for Private Messages or the software calls them “Conversations” you can contact members through that. When you open it you type the member’s username in the “recipient’s” box in his case when you type in Dieselt his name will pop up to select.

Thank you for this information. I messaged @Dieseltech as you suggested.

You should have the AD3.152, the A3.152 is the indirect injected engine. Using 3.152 is confusing as one does not know what you have. I want to know the TIP numbers, not the injector number. The bodies could be either 5151 OR 5299. Tips could be either 6372 OR 6743, they need to come apart to see the tip number. While injectors are out is a good time to do a compression test as white smoke is common on any diesel with low compression, until engine is warmed up and USUALLY it will clear up.

Thank you for responding. Yes, it is AD3.152. I will get the injectors out and see if I can find the numbers. The bodies have this number, BKBL67S5299, the last 4 digits being 5299.

Good that this is a good number. Now can I use this with the injection pump that I have the DPA 3230F350, Set SW51.0L 500/6/2470. This replaced the injection pump DPA 3230F350, Set SW57/700/6/2390.
