Hello all,
I have one of the small obsolete cbc roosamaster on a straight 350 dozer and the pump is leaking at the throttle control lever. Wondering if any one could tell me the steps to replace the oring seal especially how to keep the rack and pinion in time or syncronized. The pump is running the engine perfectly, just leaking a small amount when running.

I have the same pump with the same problem, has anyone replied with a fix. how to replace o-rings on throttle control lever on roosa master pump CBC431-15AL

hello JD guys,, i am going to put the oring seals in a CBC pump on a 4520 farm tractor. the part # for the oring on the rack, the round shaft, about 1/4 dia. that has the rack teeth on one side,, oring # T26257 i am OLD school sooo,, do not have a smart phone for pictures,, i would take the linkage loose first, then move the throttle lever to wide open speed, take a look at the angle of the lever for reassembly as this is the timing for the speed control,, it has a very small spline from the lever to the next piece which is a round gear that mates to the rack, there are 2 orings on the gear part # A3917R but these are NOT the leak stop, the tiny oring on the tip of the rack is the fuel stop. use an allen wrench to take the throttle lever loose from the gear, pull the rack out, replace the tiny oring, grease it and push the rack all way in to the stop, put a dab of grease on the rack & gear, the gear will show wear because it works dry NO lube, soo index the gear to work on NEW teeth, and install orings on the gear, install the lever at the same angle as before.

hello grwrench Thank you very much for your help. Now that I understand about the timing on the speed control I should have no problem with the rack o-ring and two gear o-rings

you are welcome,, i worked with these pumps in the early 70's not many parts are available,, when this pump croakes, you can upgrade to the JDB Roosa pump,, of course you will need different lines etc.. from salvage yard perhaps..

PS,, i forgot to mention to remove the tall nut assy. that has an allen screw & jam nut, do not disturb the allen screw as this sets the idle speed,, the tall nut takes a 7/16 wrench i believe,, good luck..
