crab of the day

Why are ALL power cords made with cheap vinyl sheaths? Even when they're warm you can't coil the stupid things up.

For anything that matters, I usually cut the damn thing off and make my own out of a reel of actual rubber-covered 3 wire cord I bought.

I have replaced the charging wires with cheap 10g copper jumper cables.
I have replaced the 120v power cord with a 3 wire 14g extension cord.
I have 2 DeWalt charges. No problems with the cords so far.
I'm sure when they get older they might get brittle.

Gripe: Hard to bend a cold wire? Really? Sounds a lot like a First World Problem! May be best to stay away from electrical things. Hate to see a delicate "man" injured by a stiff plug-outlet, or the like......

I take it you have never had to use a battery charger in a northern climate in the winter. If you intended sarcasm it failed.
Low today was -5, F. I do not want to see this delicate gentleman Hurt! Please, have a heart! You could give the guy a helpful suggestion- like "hard-wire" in a polarized weather resistant plug on his tractor (et cetera) , and charger. The poor, delicate "guy" has a real, 1st world trouble!

I'll still take vinyl over that stupid soy-based insulation so many companies use now. It's an open invitation to mice to eat your wiring.

I understand his complaint. And being he shows being in Zumbrota MN it is not close to 70 degrees there now I'm sure. Like those polyvinyl air hoses that will not flex good for use in cold weather just stiff as all get out. don't coil well nor straighten out just kink.

The cord that will not straighten out is only half as long, meaning that you have to bring an extension cord with you.

Not very nice Not the way we are here at YT! Are you twelve years old?

99% of the crap that is posted on this sight is "first world problems" My guess is all of us went to bed full and stayed warm last night. We post things to get little problems fixed, to get people to interact, hopefully for some enjoyment. Lets all have a great day and lighten up. SMILE JIm
The posts on YT are not required reading. If it is 99% crap why bother to read?
Why don't you post something to make us laugh and have a great day?
