crab of the day

Ok Geoge, just for example. We are getting ready for a funeral, I am dressed, half way down the stairs, my wife is ironing in the other room, I think I got it made. Then you get the "just a minute, look at this" and you know what's next. Which of these looks best, of course both are just great. Not a earth shaking problem. I hope you have a good day. by the way I do enjoy your posts. Jim

Why are ALL power cords made with cheap vinyl sheaths? Even when they're warm you can't coil the stupid things up.

For anything that matters, I usually cut the damn thing off and make my own out of a reel of actual rubber-covered 3 wire cord I bought.
Good question, maybe because it doesn't last in cold climates, usually people throw them away when they get so cracked up and split open they can't afford electrical tape to keep repairing them, and go buy new. Where as rubber coated, if taken a little care of can last a person a lifetime.

Shotgun reply to the "First World" comment:

More frustrating if you are old enough to remember when everything had actual rubber insulation, that was much more forgiving in low temperatures.

Maybe not a battery charger, but not a good day when the stiff wire yanks an expensive device off the bench to land on the concrete.

Not just the insulation, but the wires are often coarser strands, which aren't as flexible, or even aluminum rather than copper.

As someone else said, many of the posts here are about problems with your expensive toy, that you only use a few hours a year.

The posts on YT are not required reading. If it is 99% crap why bother to read?
Why don't you post something to make us laugh and have a great day?
My guess is that JWendt post #18 was in reference to response #4. Seems like author of #4 has nothing positive to say in any of his posts and spews a lot of bovine excrement.

Why do they they put unbendable plastic cord on battery chargers when you need them the most when it is cold. They are like bending copper pipe around. I guess we are only to use them in heated garages or summer time. And don't get me started on battery location. Have a great day!! Jim

Yes I hate the plastic rubber that we have now as well. Since we get real winter here regularly, it is a niusense in the cold but I suspect that natural rubber is very expensive now and that is why it is used. Can't get real rubber boots any more either. Now you have to get the more expensive ones or use plastic rubber ones. Those can be used in the summer but are like a skate blade in winter. No grip at all on a slippery surface and so are dangerous.
