David Brown 1212 - 3 point will not go down

Working on my grandfather’s David Brown 1212 (he passed away a couple months ago). Just got the tractor started and moving on its own after 20-25 years. I remember the last time we tried to use this tractor that the 3 point went all the way up as soon as we started it and would not go down. It has been in the up position the entire time. Unfortunately for me this issue did not cure itself with time and is still stuck in the up position. The lock to the back right is in the unlock position. The selector is set to “Height”. I tried the other two positions and did not change anything. I’m guessing some kind of valve is stuck but not sure where to start. Looking for any help otherwise the tractor is useless to me. If I can get this last issue working, I plan to buy a full set of tires for it and use it to bush hog our property a couple times a year. Thank you.

Thank you for the manual. I do actually have the original manual that came with the tractor. No implement currently mounted. We had to take the bush hog off to use on another tractor. The lift latch is in the disengage position. I jumped up and down on the arms and would not budge.

Have you searched here? Don't know how far back the search function goes, but this has been discussed before. Elmer Landman was the expert, I would search for him. There are a couple spool valves that could be stuck. I remember making a tapered oak dowel and wedging it into one of the spool valves to help pull it out. Clean them up and 3 pt. works like it should.

The latch being in the disengaged position doesn't mean anything if the pins that it cams out on is broken off. Does the handle move rearward(out) as you turn it to the "disengaged" position? If it doesn't, try pulling it rearward as you wiggle the lever back and forth.
