Engine stands

When we stripped the 1466 for a ring and pinion gear with all new bearings in it. I used a couple pressed channels from a semi trailer about a foot wide stood on end bolted to the side frames. Then welded a couple tubes on the bottom, where I could slide forks under the front axle. This lets me carry the whole front half of the tractor so I could set it in another shed while we worked on the rearend Heavy fork lifts and telehandlers are nice for these jobs. They do have their faults too.

I have a little 5,000 lb fork lift that I can't live with out, When I split a front end off to get an engine out I carry the front half out side out of the way.
