Farmall Cub Plow

Hey guys! A neighbor did some trading, and come up with a complete 1 bottom plow for a Cub, and it even has a hand lever that goes infront of the right rear axle, between the wheel and fender, and adjusts the plow somehow?

Anyways. I don't have a Cub, perhaps will one day though, and would really like to have this plow for it. I think he is thinking $100 for it, which might be fair, but neither one of us really know...

We are both pretty proud of constatly "ripping" the other one off though, so I will for sure low ball him!! :P But, we always end up fair, so I guess it is just a fun game... :)

It is in really good shape. The only thing I have seen, is that someone welded a new point onto the share, but did a really nice job of it...

Also, what do you think this part of a Cub Sickle mower is worth??? It is basically just the support, and sickle bar, and the cast iron gaurd that covers the pitman / sickle... Has a sickle in it too.. Thanks! Bryce

If I recall correctly, you reverse the drawbar and mount it on the front with one bolt each side. The lever you mentioned adjusts the drawbar up and down making the plow hitch point higher and lower to adjust plow depth.

Cubs had a 1 pt hitch and hydraulics - doesn't sound like the type of plow you're looking at.I don't know if all Cubs came with the hitch or if they could be had with just a regular drawbar. I know around here any implement specific for the old Farmalls is hard to find as most have been turned in for scrap over the years. If you're sure it will fit any Cub then I'd grab it so it doesn't get scrapped somewhere in the future. Are you sure its a plow for a Cub and not for an A.

You are probably looking at an A-193 plow in either 12, 14 or 16 inch - often with an attached coulter.

As I understand it, the A-193 plow was sold for both the cub and the A or Super A. The difference between the two setups is the draft control parts provided with either.

The cub plow, as you guessed, comes with the mechanical linkage to raise/lower it.

For both tractor types, you mount the drawbar forward and allow it to hinge freely on the pivot pins, the draft being set with the linkage.

The manual is available online to compare against.

If I had to guess, I would say this was probably a 14 inch, but I wasn't able to measure last time I saw it... Has an attached coulter up front, right on the side of the plow beam. Long land slide, no tail wheel or anything.

Thats what I figured about the drawbar... Looking at the blue handle that is on the tractor now (the plow is not currently mounted) the lever doesn't do anything, right now, but there appears to be a spot where a small piece of linkage would hook up, and then be hooked to the plow...

I am going to buy it tomorrow, hopefully, and bring it home with me. Might be too late tomorrow though when I come home, so who knows! :P

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it... Bryce

I had a Cub with the mold board plow. I thought it was 12 inches. It was a load when handling it. Hal
PS: You should be able to see it in this picture.

Have one, after you look on the web for a picture......make sure you have ALL of the parts!!!! Not a bad price but you can end up with a pile of scrap iron if you are missing something. On the CUB you reverse the draw bar yup. It takes two men and a boy half the blasted day to put it on!

some cubs have one point hitch as mentioned, but most do not. Go here and scroll down to the middle of the list to see the manual for the 193 plow. The manual shows a hand lift, but a Touch Control with rear rockshaft will work with less effort.
