Farmall Super A rear rim issue

I know there are lots of posts about this subject, but I cannot seem to find an answer.

My Super A has 8x24 rear rims that are rusted out. I have tried to order 8" and 9" inch rims. The problem is the loops are not matching up with the hub. I need 19 3/4" across the center and 13 3/4" from one loop to the next. I would also like to go with a 10" rim so I can put on 11.2 x 24 tires.

Any help with this can will be greatly appreciated.

I know that loops can be ground off and welded. Just seeing if anyone else had this problem and if they found a new rim that matched up and why my hub is different than the rim loops??

Sorry this is such a long answer. But the short answers are what you have probably been finding. And as you have found, they are not the answer.

The problem is that rims for the A, B, Super A, etc. are one category while the Cub is a second category. They don't mix. The A wheels have a 19-3/4" center-to-center spacing across the loops/lugs. The corresponding dimension for the Cub wheels is 20-1/2". An additional difference is the offset of the loops from the center of the rim. In round figures, the loops themselves are 2 inches wide. The A loops are placed 2 inches off center. By reversing the wheel and bolting to the inside or outside of the disk, you get 4 different track settings. The Cub loops are placed 1 inch off center, giving 3 track settings. (Two ways of bolting them together get the same positioning.)

I find that the All States Ag Parts site (www.tractorpartsasap.com) has better descriptions than you find here (www.yesterdaystractors.com/store/). They have some slightly different dimensions listed for the same stock number, which is strange. It is the same company and seems to be the exact same selections. So I suggest using the ASAP site. Their item 103717 is a 10-24 that lists loop diameter as 20 or 20.25, which is between the A and Cub sizes (strange!). 103716 is a 9-24 listed as 19.75 lug diameter. So one of those may work for you.

I'm not going to try to put in a direct link to a competitor, but ME Miller lists a 7" rim with a 20.5 diameter and 8, 9, and 10" rims with 19.75 diameter. That seems to all make sense.) You could look at their listings.

Nobody talks about the loop offsets, but I would hope all the 19.75 diameter loops have the A offset and the 20.5 diameter loops have the Cub offset. You will just have to ask them.

I contacted Miller and their measurements appear to match up with my hub. Let's hope that works. Thank you for the response and explanation!

Call JP tractor. They will have good , original rims. They ship. They are reasonably priced, too.
