Farmall super A rear rim sizing

My super a has 11.2x12.4x24 rear tires and needs a new rim on left side. I found a super a I can cannibalize but it has 8" rims. My 11.2 tire says on it that it goes on 10" rims.
Can I put the 8" rim on and still use my 11.2 tire? Would rather spend 75 on an older rim rather than 300 on a new one from steiner.

Thanks
Nick

IF you decide on a new rim, WHY not patronize this very site, our hosts, vs. steiners?

My super a has 11.2x12.4x24 rear tires . . .
Are you saying you have 11.2 on one side and 12.4 on the other? Next thing you should do is measure your good rim. Then you should try to match it. Tires are intended to be used with a specific rim width. But they tolerate some variation. Your longer-term goal should be the same size tires and rims on both sides.

I would just split the rim and weld a piece in to make it the same width as the other side if there is a difference. then grind both sides down smoother. The inside needs to be real smooth for the tube to not chafe on it. IF the hole for the stem is rusted I just weld then shut then drill a new hole in the welded spot. File out smooth so it doesn't chafe the tube by the stem and put it together.

Steiner is on the high end price-wise. There are other places to buy from that are somewhat less expensive.

You CAN put the 11.2 tire on the 8" rim, but it will be like stuffing 10lbs of manure into a 8lb bag. The sidewalls will be pinched in, and the tread will be bulged. It will be much more difficult to install the tube and get the second bead on to the rim without pinching the tube. If you only do one side the tractor will have an odd look to it.

Cutting and widening the rim is a more advanced option. To do it and have it come out round and presentable, requires tools, skill, and experience. Believe me, your first time is going to be messy and ugly...
