So let me start by saying I did not cause this problem. Last year a "helper" decided to change the filters and fluid on my ford 1220 diesel tractor when I was away and now it won't start.
So when I came home the battery was fried(had to by a new one) and found 3 empty cans of ether on the ground. The glow plug light only comes on when the engine is cranking. I tried to bleed the system but today I found a broken bleeder screw directly after the fuel filter, and did a repair to that, may not be perfect but just stopping air penetration trying to find problems.
After trying to bleed the system yet again I removed the oil filler cap and noticed an excess of blowby coming out of the filler. How likely is it that these idiots blew up the engine with the ether, and what can I do to check before taking it to the dealer.
