Ford 1520 rear lift and aux hydraulics

I bought a 1996 Ford 1520 with belly mower. My dad had this tractor when I was a kid and I bought this one to take care of a few acres, move trailers, etc. My memory fails me a little - but I thought the rear lift operated independently of the belly hydraulics. Is that true? We also had a hydraulic dump John Deere grass catcher (MCS) that had a handle located to the right of the driver's seat. The hoses were quick connects.

I'm a newbie messing with the hydraulics. Can someone point to a manual or tell me if it is possible to lift the three point separately from the mid hydraulics? And, is there a handle/kit for the hoses to lift the attachment (the John Deere MCS)? If this thread has been asked 50,000 times, I apologize. I've searched the site and don't see the answers to what I'm trying to do.

The 3pt and the lever controlling it are pretty standard on the xx20 series Fords.

Many of these have a loader and a lever off to the right side of the steering wheel. If you have a loader you can remove the loader and use those hyd ports with the joystick. It’s a little odd using the joystick but works.

Then there can be one or two rear hyd setups to use with hyd cylinders. They are controlled with little levers in the slots down below the 3pt lever. These are not on every tractor, good chance you might not have these. They could be added, but are very $$$. Very.

Some folk cobble together a set of these types of remote hyd ports with power beyond ports and some levers off on the fender or some such. You might have that. Same as above, but home made.

So….. what hyd ports are you trying to find, talk about?

I found a guy that’s machining a remote valve and handle that fits in the slot like the old kits that are costing $1400 or more. I want to be able to operate a grass catcher that dumps from the seat. John Deere made one in the mid 90’s called an MCS. I know we had a lever that raised and lowered the grass catcher hydraulics on the 3 pt. hitch. But I thought it also raised and lowered the rear 3 pt arms - not the lever I have now.

Thanks for the help! I don’t think I want to go the route of the front loader lever and setup for a rear hydraulic.
