Ford 2000 or 3000?

I need help identifying a tractor that appears to be a 3000 but has some discrepancies with its markings. The stickers on the hood read 3000 but those could be incorrect as they appear newer than original. It’s a 4 speed transmission PTO. The shift pattern sticker appears original and shows 1500RPM 540 PTO speed. The data on the flat of the right side fly wheel housing reads:

30 B
21022A
C158301

The 30 B in place of the model number is confusing and I can’t find any reference to that code. The middle line follows the format of a normal model number indicating an early 2000 (2), all purpose(10), gas(2), transmission PTO (2), 4 speed (A). But, it’s the middle line where the production code is normally located. The serial number looks typical and I believe reflects a late 66 USA build.

The rear axle housings are also interesting and confusing. They are round/oblong at the base and then past the bracket flats they square off leading to the hub. The number on those are c5nn 4013c. I have seen seen square axle housings with this number but I can t find any examples of similar kind to what’s in the photos below.

I appreciate any help in identifying this tractor.

21022A
2 = 2000 built before April 1968
10 = Ag/All purpose
2 = gas engine
2 = 540 transmission PTO
A = 4 speed transmission

C = US built
158301 = serial number
There should be another string of code

Example: 6C30B

They didn't always put the Model Number, Unit Number and Serial Number in the same order, especially on the early ones.

21022A - This is the model number for a 2000 with a gas engine, trans driven (non-live) 540 rpm PTO and a 4 speed transmission.

C158301 - This is the serial number for a late 1961 tractor that was assembled at the US assembly plant.

30 B - This looks like a partial Unit Number, which is a code for the exact date that it was assembled. There should be a couple of characters before those. The 30 means that it was assembled on the 30th day of some month, and the B at the end says that it was assembled during the day shift. The missing characters at the beginning would tell us the year and the month. Perhaps the missing characters were struck too lightly to be seen through all of that paint.

It is not the old style 2000 - the location of the hydraulic pump and the shape of the steering box sheetmetal are all >1965 style. That serial number indicates 1966. The lightweight trumpets also suggest it is a 2000 not a 3000. The 2000 and 3000 shared the same gas engine, so there would be no difference there. The old style 2000 has a four cylinder engine, but the new style is three.
