Ford 5000 3 pt. and PTO not working...

My Ford 5000 3 pt. and PTO both has decided to quit working.
The PTO had an issue of not turning off earlier this spring.
I replaced the control valve and clutch pack and everything was working great.
We did a very small amount of discing, then while traveling back to the barn, the 3 pt. lift lowered on it own, and will not raise the disc or nothing at all as we have removed the disc.
Then I noticed that the PTO shaft has become inoperable as well....
Drained and replace the hyd. oil, still not action.
I pulled the lid and turned the engine over... no oil being pumped up to the top lid hydraulics, so I guess that has something to do with my problem.
I also noticed that the idler gear on the front of the hyd. pump doesn't turn when I turn it over or even start it with the cover off...
Could this idler gear not turning be my problem? I am under the impression that it should be turning the hd. pump whenever the engine is running...
Any ideas or thought swill be greatly appreciated!!

That doesn't sound too easy...the transmission works, so would that eliminate the crank as being the issue?
Maybe...?

There’s a splined hub that bolts to the crankshaft at back of the flywheel, over time the splines wear out and strip, the splines on the pto drive that connects to that hub may also be shot requiring the shaft to be replaced
I thought that shaft could be removed thru the rear without a rear split, but maybe I’m wrong

Ok, I will remove pto clutch pack and shaft to investigate further as I just replaced the clutch pack. Yes, the pto shaft can be removed out of the rear of center housing.. I appreciate everyone's input and will report my findings in next day or so. Thanks guys

Well..... it looks like my worst fear has been realized. PTO shaft from transmission sheared.
Time for a deep dive into the unexplored, once I get it split x 2.
What are the chances of finding the shaft or should I be looking for the whole trans?
You nailed it Shaun Wallace

Crazy idea. If bearing will clear gear after snap ring out. If get a hold of bearing and pull shaft shouldnt have split at all . I know rear shaft is out because that gets pto clutch out. That shaft is as long as trans case.

Thanks, I'm going to dig into it this weekend. I will try to remove the shaft without splitting first.
I appreciate the suggestions and guidance!
