Ford TW-35 Turbo installed on TW-15

I have a model TW-15 and the turbo seal on the exhaust side has recently went out and all you can smell while running the tractor is burnt oil. I was curious to know however if it would be possible to fit a TW-35 Turbo onto it instead of the smaller TW-15 turbo. As well if would even be worthwhile to do so as I would not be installing an aftercooler. Any incite is much appreciated.

If you're wanting to do this simply to get more boost, it's not going to do much for you. Those 401 engines are pretty well maxed out where they are, and trying to force more ponies out of them will likely bite you hard down the road.

We put a TW30 turbo on our 9000. When we got it the turbo was removed and oil lines plugged. We got a used turbo and lines off a TW30 salvage tractor. We had to rebend the oil lines to work but it breathed life into the old girl. We didn’t mess with the pump at all so boost was within range.

After a few years the used turbo went out so put a new aftermarket one on it.
