Hi all,

I have a 1957 Fordson E1A Major and am wanting to fit a pulley guard.

Can anyone advise on the size and the thread type of the bolts that would be required to fit the guard please?

Thank you in advance,
Richard

Don't mean to be a smart A--, but; I assume you are referring to the belt pulley, on the right side of the transmission. I haven't had one of those off for more than 50 years, but suggest removing one of the mounting bolts and measuring it. Depending on the thickness of the shield mounts, you might want to use 1/4 inch longer bolts. If thinner than 1/4 inch, original bolts should be fine.

Online parts books for the major and super-major seem to indicate just a regular 3/8" UNC bolt, 3/4" long.
