OMC Owatonna bought by Gehl . Who was later bought by Manitou .

Gehl had just gotten out of a financial slump & picked up OMC, who was in one, in '86. By 96 they were in a financial upturn again & bought Mustang in '97. A bit over a decade after, they sold off the ag line.

Did they sell the ag line or just divested? I think NewHolland (CNH or whomever) picked up the Scavenger spreaders (which Gehl made for NH and NH made box spreaders for Gehl) but I kinda gathered the rest wasn't picked up??? Grinders were/are kinda thing of the past, Miller and H&S have the silage wagon market and NH, and JD and others have the mower market pretty much. ????

The H&S grinder mixer is kinda sorta the Gehl design. They re-engineered some weak spots so parts are not necessarily interchangeable but they are the same basic setup. As an aside, Grinders are apparently not a thing of the past because Lorenz re-instated production after a long hiatus as there was enough of a demand for new machines. I think Arts-Way only goes for the big-capacity, 'bells-and whistles' market now, so it made space for the not-quite-so fancy Lorenz machines.
