Hi.
I have a small piece of land and own about all the equipment I need. But I do enjoy reading the different forums here on YTMAG.
I do have a question about Gleaner combines. I read the different postings but haven"t been able to figure out how the different models relate?
Does anyone know of a list that lays out the different designations of the Gleaner combines? Having prodution dates would be interesting as well. I"ve run a few searchs but haven"t come up with anything yet.
Any links would be helpful.
Looking forward to some answers.
Howard.

Here"s a basic synopsis, but understand that there are some overlaps. First model listed is smallest of each group....Model A, C- 1960. A2, C2- 1964. Model E- 1968. Model E3, F, G- 1968. K replaces the E3- 1969. K2, F2- 1977. Longshoe K2, F2-1978. F3,- 1983-1986. Model L- 1972. Model M- 1973. M2, L2- 1972- 1982. Model M3, L3- 1983. 2-3 row corn machines would be A, A2 E, E3. Four row models would be C, C2, F, F2, F3. Six row models would be M, M2, M3. Eight row models would be L. L2, L3. That being said, it is not unheard of to run a slightly larger head on any model. ie, you can run a 6rn on an F, but ground speed would be slow. You can run a 4rw on an M, and you need to run fast to keep the machine full. I just gave common sizes- yield, wet ground, etc. will influence what works. All info from Swinford"s AC Farm Equipment 1914-1985. Excellent source of serial numbers, production data, etc. for all AC equipment.

Hi. Thanks for the replys. I know more now then I did. lol. The Gleaner site looks like a good reference to keep in mind. I'll be book marking that site.
Thanks again for the info.
