Gleaner Unloading Auger

I just got a new unloading auger for my K2 Gleaner and need to swap over the shock absorber, however when these were made someone got the bright idea to heat the tubing and mushroom the metal against the shock absorber. They did that about 8 times, I was going to cut the tubing off of it and remove it that way but its going to be a lengthy process esp when these areas won't budge. The parts book shows 3 bolts to be used with the shock absorber but mine has no bolts or holes for any bolts, the new auger has a couple holes where the shock goes, anyone ever run into this?? I've attached a photo of the trouble spots.

I was hoping someone else would respond, as I am clueless. Do you have a manual fold auger? I don't recall any shock absorber on the power fold augers. And I don't recall any shock absorber on any of the earlier manual fold augers. My K2 had a power fold. I guess the latest combine I've seen with a manual fold was a K.

The manual fold has two compression springs, upper and lower, on the hinge pin. I looked at the online parts catalog and see them, but I can't correlate in my mind what I'm looking at in the parts catalog and what nh8260 is describing?

I got it now. There's a shock absorber in the auger shaft on the power fold. The online AGCO parts page I'm looking at doesn't show where the bolts go. View attachment 113014
The long bolt goes on the bottom of the shock and the 2 small bolts go up top to help hold it in place. It is a power fold auger, I found a used shock and I think the best thing to do is throw the one i have now in the scrap pile, I don't think this is the right auger for a K2, the auger is supposed to have bolt holes but my old one doesn't have any. I finally figured it out!

I don't know what it would be from. All the powerfold augers from the K2 to the L3 show that shock absorber and the bolts to attach it. Maybe somebody repaired it with a 'better idea'?

I ordered a good used shock and it is the bolt on type, this one will just go to the scrap pile, its not worth the effort to cut it out of there
