Got the 530 running and hooked it to the grinder/mixer today. That's one way to find the issues. Lol.

Had a minor miss, found a leaking injection line. Got that fixed and had a worse miss. I'll have to do some looking there. Something broke in the pto as well. Was working good, when I shut the pto off then had nothing. Feels like it engages, but doesn't spin. Here is a short video of it working. Smokes a lot.

It sounds pretty good from the video, Jon. My 830 smokes quite a lot under heavy load. From listening to the motor the miss does not sound like a total dead cylinder? Your take on that? Nice looking tractor too! Nick

What kind of PTO does it have, a clutch pack or mechanical?

SAME AS MY 530 ,, mine was built in 65,,. pto has been fouled for 5 yrs ,my helper neighbor kids packed the round baler day dreaming and compromised the clutch in one afternoon . NOW they are running 60 ton trucks in a rock quarry making 30 buks per hour ,.
lately it was just always easier to use another tractor rather than fix it ,,never adjusted this type ,, . from what i know i think the button on my pto behind the pipe plug is missing and therefore will require tear down. YOUR 530 .seems to run good ,, i cant detect a miss ,, but i am not there either ..
lol ..how good does it start ,?,.water contaminated filters are never the same after they are flushed with clean fuel . . but many 188 engines are doing their best like that . keep in mind the exhaust comes from one end instead of the center of the manifold ... so you might notice a bit of a cackle ,,. especially if the valves need adjusting , or , your injectors need reconditioned .. ..watch out for head gasket issues and make sure you get the correct one ,,use the number on the lower right of the engine block. . watch the oil level , ,,. today there are a lot of used tractors on the market with poor maintenance , sadly from ignorance or worse,, total apathy . and , some are like me is because of poor health ,,but the oil and filters get changed the tank sumps get drained .HERE . i had 3 diesel 188 come here that were leaking on the umbrella seals on the pump shaft .adding fuel to the oil .. that is a easy one for a veteran like us to miss ,,. most everything i wrote here ,, YOU ALREADY KNOW JON ,, BUT , these days ,there is so many guys out there that are afraid to ask ,, but they will research instead . and i felt like writing , hopefully this will help others ,,. good luck
