I have a1949 8n it was running ,I put a12 volt conversion kit on it,the kit calls to put on a bracket on the head for alternator, remove 1and2 head bolts which I did.I pulled both bolts out water came out of bolts put bracket on bolts back in.torkeddown heads to 65 everything else hooked up.started ran fine for about 5-10 minutes.Shut off tried to start up again and noise from bottom of motor. Will not start now.I need helpplease

Hello D Abbott, welcome to YT! It was running before but for how long have you had it or used it? If very little there is a chance that your starter just happened to fail. Down the lines of what Teddy is saying there is a possibility that you disturbed the seal of the head gasket and now coolant has gotten in the cylinder while it was shut off. Coolant will not compress in a cylinder above a piston and will lock a motor from turning. Pull the two spark plugs closet to the fan and try the starter again.

That starter doesn't sound good to me. I think I would have it checked. I have a 1950 Ferguson with 12 volts and had a '54 NAA with 12 volts. Both of them would spin over fast and quiet. If your starter motor is drawing too much current, there isn't enough left for a strong spark. Your tractor sounds like it wants to run, but just can't get there. You could try starting it by jumping the starter from a separate source. Key on and OUT OF GEAR. Also if you have help, try pull starting it.
