Help Finding Rear Rims to Fit Cast Wheel

Looking for some help trying to find rims and tires for the current cast rims. I don‘t know if I can just bolt up any rim that has the same bolt pattern as long as it’s a 38” rim. I need to put wider tires on my tractor for what I use it for. I am using it for my 40 acres moving logs and slash piles around to burn after cleaning up my property but if I am on any kind of slope I can't back up the tractor so I am trying to get a little more traction. The current tires are 11.2 - 38. I added some pictures if that helps. The cast rim part number is R33450R. The tires are way to skinny and just buries itself on any kind of a slope.

I would think that 13.6 tires would be fine on those rims. What model tractor is that, 3010? The tires look small for those rims.

I’m pretty sure any double bevel 38” rim will work. There might be different number of bumps for the clamps but if a few engage you’ll be fine. For what it’s worth the cast wheels you have are likely from a 20 series tractor.

Edit to add: you may want to get wheel weights to help with traction and stability.

I will look into wheel weights. I have a box scraper I am using for a little ballast right now. I think you are right. The cast wheels are not in the parts book in a 38”.

Yes it’s a 3010. The tires are row crop and super skinny. It’s what came on it. I picked up the tractor for $4K and runs like a champ. Added a 3rd function and a grapple. Works great less the not being able to use it on a hill.

In my area the 15.5-38 tire was popular on 3010 and 3020 tractors used in row crop work. You may be happier with the taller 14.9-38 tire since the fronts look pretty tall. 16.9-38 is another option but in my opinion they look a little too large on a 3010 but your large fronts will somewhat balance it out.

I required wider Tires on my JD 520. I purchased TWO 18.4 X 30" Rims and centers for $25.00.....originally on a JD 30??,and used the tapered wedges from the 38" centers I removed,as the AXEL Diameter of the 520 is NOT the same as the JD30??. Made a real good JD 520 Tractor for the application I'm using it for.

Im thinking that you have to much weight on the front, causing the rear to get lite. Try with a heavy brush cutter on the rear and see if it helps get some traction, if this is the problem larger tires are not going to help much.

A tractor salvage yard should have rims that will work. The place near me usually can get rims for $50 or less. Also watch farm auctions there are tires and rims alot of times on those. I picked up 2 15.5-38 tires and rims for $10 a couple years ago. I have 2 3010s with 15.5 and 2 with 13.6 tires. 11.2 seem to skinny for the weight of a 3010.

Any of the number series Deeres or IHs will work. Letter series, such as A and G are different. Same with the letter series IH. The center drops deeper.
