Hydraulic Line on 3010 Leaking

Hi guys. I have a JD 3010 that got a hole about 3/16" around worn in it and it's now leaking.

It goes from the part of the tractor below the brake pedals and a little further back to the bottom of the hydraulic pump in the front of the tractor. The oil that leaks out of the hole, that's probably about 3/16" around, just kind of dribbles out so it's not really under pressure but the loss does add up quick. For now, just temporarily, could I block off this line without hurting anything? The line is about 1/4" and it's the same plastic sort of material that semi trailer air brake lines are made with. It's 4 or 5 feet long. I'll paste some pictures below. I hope you guys will be able to see the position of the line in the large view picture. If you look close you can see the line hanging and the brass fitting is sort of shiny.

Thanks again for all your help. You guys have saved me lots of agony.

DO NOT block the line. That line lets the pump leak off case pressure from the shaft seal. Blocking that line will cause the front pump seal to leak and cause more repairs. Since you are familiar with air brake line you might find a splice to fix your leak, or just buy a new line.

Thanks a lot for the information. I will do as you suggested. Have a great evening!
