Had not done that, Let me try again.make sure the overflow tube is plugged
Yes sir, I have a good seal there, Let me try again and plug the overflow tube. forgot that.Do you have spacers enough under it that you have to push down to get the tester ears locked on the neck and it tightens with some force required? Pressure of the spring against the spacers is all that is making the seal hold.
It should be sealing below the overflow tube opening, right down at the bottom of the neck like the radiator cap does.Yes sir, I have a good seal there, Let me try again and plug the overflow tube. forgot that.
I have it sealed up tight, and I have nothing. The needle will move a little when I pump it but goes immediately back to zero.It should be sealing below the overflow tube opening, right down at the bottom of the neck like the radiator cap does.
Then you either have a good leak or a big air space to compress. Do you have the coolant right below the neck opening?I have it sealed up tight, and I have nothing. The needle will move a little when I pump it but goes immediately back to zero.

As you mentioned try it on something the adapters with it fit properly and see if it pressurizes a system. It is possible it is defective; such happens.Yes sir.
Just tested it on my car Pressurized it with 3 pumps. As you mentioned try it on something the adapters with it fit properly and see if it pressurizes a system. It is possible it is defective; such happens.
if you are sure, you have a seal on the tractor radiator keep pumping, coolant should show up somewhere.Just tested it on my car Pressurized it with 3 pumps.
I guess I am just not getting a seal around the cap, I have tried several different gasket material and thickness. Not sure what to do at this point.if you are sure, you have a seal on the tractor radiator keep pumping, coolant should show up somewhere.
I haven't had hands on a Maddox tester. It looks like my Stant. Does the pumped air come out the center as I marked? The thick washer with my tester matches the OD and ID of the seal washer the arrow points to. The cap requires a good bit of force to lock it on the filler neck with the washer in place. If you are using multiple rubber pieces you may need to glue them together to make a solid spacer to use under the tester cap.I guess I am just not getting a seal around the cap, I have tried several different gasket material and thickness. Yeah That is the same set up, I am thinking about trying a different one. I will fiddle with this one a little more, But if it still doesn't work I will try something different.I haven't had hands on a Maddox tester. It looks like my Stant. Way to small, Doesn't even begin to go on.I don't know if it will help or not. What is the reason the one circled in the attached picture doesn't fit? View attachment 97341
Maybe the other adapter kit will do it. The online manual for the kit reads like those expand like a boat drain plug. If that is the case, I have to guess they seal to the sides of the filler neck and cover the overflow tube opening. Again, I have never had hands on one of those.Way to small, Doesn't even begin to go on.
I have the exact same kit (and as I wrote previously) it worked just fine on an oilallover radiator with a similar (if not IDENTICAL deep filler neck) with the addition of a rubber washer WITHOUT any adapters other than the one permanently attached to the hose from the pump.Maybe the other adapter kit will do it. Could be, as I said mine is a Stant Kit, I have not had hands on the Maddox kits. But I would expect it would work, and you say yours did.I have the exact same kit (and as I wrote previously) it worked just fine on an oilallover radiator with a similar (if not IDENTICAL deep filler neck) with the addition of a rubber washer WITHOUT any adapters other than the one permanently attached to the hose from the pump.
I wonder if the O.P. is missing something as how the adapter latches to the filler neck, it takes a bit of finesse to do that, it attaches to the neck and also you need to turn the "wing nut-like" part of the adapter to tighten it up air-tight.
