ID This Backhoe and Loader?

Hey All!
New Guy here. I bought my first tractor a week or so ago. As best I can tell, it's a 1954 NAA.

I'm trying to ID the backhoe and the loader so that I can get parts for them. They both work, but the cylinders leak a bit & need to be rebuilt.

I have found one tag riveted to the backhoe controls. That's it. Google hasn't been any help.

Thanks!
HM

The tag you found is for the valve or pump. Can't tell very well in that picture. As for the hoe I would guess it is an old Shawnee. Not a fast nor big hoe.Better than a shovel is about all. Now for the seals you should be able to get them at any hydraulic shop or just have them do the cylinder for you. Might not be that bad with them doing it or try for new cylinders from some place like Surplus Center.

I think it may be a Sherman backhoe. And the tag in the picture says Sherman Prod with Hydreco under it.
I second Sherman. Looks like the later versions. I have one of the earlier. It's framework is a bit cruder. Also agree that no OEM parts will be available. Fortunately, hydraulic parts can be substituted and framework can be rebuilt or fabbed by any competent welding shop. Good luck.

Yes, that is a Sherman back-hoe. I had one just like that. I had a hydraulic shop make me a new main lift cylinder for it. The loader may be a Wagner.

Basically it is a Ford farm tractor with attachments added. The Ford guys can tell you the model of tractor. Show a good picture from the front with the loader up. They can also tell you where the model numbers are for the tractor and give you the year. I agree with the others on finding a good shop that rebuilds cylinders. Most were off the shelf parts way back then and very few parts are available now, even if they are still making anything. Most of those parts would have been interchanged since then. Many may need some work done to make them fit. These days most backhoes come straight from the tractor factory as a unit, not add on attachments. You can still buy aftermarket loaders and backhoes for old or new tractors. Many are 3pt attachments, not as good as a frame mount unit. Lots of aftermarket and parts for Ford tractors at the dealers and on-line, even right here. They can help you find the parts you need for the tractor and maybe some hyd parts....James

Outstanding
Thanks Everyone!
So, it's a Sherman backhoe.
I was Googling Herman.

It does work fine. Just a couple iffy hoses and cylinders. And it certainly does beat the heck out of a shovel! I just need it for a few things around my home like some simple landscaping, dig out a few tree stumps & to dig a trench along side my driveway for electric service out to a gate. Simple, easy stuff. I sure don't expect this old machine to earn any money working out in the world!

There is a hydraulic hose & cylinder outfit near me. They're just 5 minutes away. I could walk there if I really had to. I could probably get away with driving the tractor over there lol. I've had them make me one hose already. Good guy runs it.

LOL ... I was Googling "HERMAN" ...no wonder I didn't get anywhere. I only used Simple Green on the tag to clean it - didn't want to risk damaging it

Identifying the backhoe for parts purposes is really not worth the effort. It's so old that even if the manufacturer is still in business, they no doubt no longer support it.

Hopefully you have a hydraulic shop in the nearest city that works reasonably.
I am lucky in that I do have a hydraulic hose & cylinder shop very close by. Already had them make me one hose. They made it while I waited...5 min & it was cheap!

I've got an old Work Bull. I feel the same about it.
