Update on Bessay ( thats what my girlfriend named her ) Betsy the hoe. Havent tried checking the orfice yet. Relocated her up north where she was put to work. She was going good and strong until I noticed the dipper cylinder leaking at the top seal. I removed the cylinder in the bush. I was surprised that it did come out fairly easy. Cracking the lines was the only challenge. I didnt have the right tools so for leverage i put a long monkey wrench on a 1 inch wrench and I didnt have a pipe so I put a trailer hitch receiver over a short adjustable wrench. It worked. My question are these hard or dangerous to rebuild/resell? Do I bother trying myself or do I attack it myself?

Everything depends on your experience with mechanical systems. to many of us with thousands invested in tools and years of diagnosis and repair experience, sure go ahead. if any doubt exists about your ability, have it repaired at a hydraulic shop, or get an estimate. shopping at Surplus City or on line might find a replacement. Bore, stroke length from pin to pin, pressure max, are all needed to assure a match. Jim

Hi, you are correct, right pedal on the left side, it is that way because of the brake pedal shaft design.
Since you had the line off the master cylinder, you could have performed an air pressure test.
Remove the hydraulic reservoir filler plug behind the seat then apply air pressure to the brake line that run to the axle housing, if you can hear air hissing through the hydraulic reservoir filler hole then the brake piston O-rings are leaking.
Did you see a good flow of hydraulic oil on that MC on the input line? The screen on the input line was clean?

I didnt check for flow on the MC line nor did I pull out the orfice and check it. I ran out of time. One brake was good enough for now in order to get the machine back to work. after the first couple of hours I noticed a substantial size leak on the dipper cylinder so all production came to a halt. I removed the cylinder in the bush and had it revealed. Picking it up this afternoon.

Well more bugs have shown up while workin Bessy. PS line blew. No big deal. Lost a snap ring on the RR foot of the stabilizer. No big deal. Found a big pin on the floor luckily which holds the bottom of the hoe in place. New cotter pin installed. My current issue now is the RR top hoe mount pin is loose as seen in the pics. It moves in and out depending on the position of the hoe. I tried to get it back in place but it wont go fully in. comparing to the other good side it needs to go in 1 more inch but I still cant figure out what will prevent it from popping out. The mounting bolt was tight. Theres no hole on the inner side of the pin for a cotter pin or similar. My two questions if you can assist again are how do I get this back in fully and how do I prevent it from partially coming out again. 1 pic attached is the good side and the other is the farthest I’ve seen it come out yet. Oh I forgot my boom cylinder is leaking as well but slowly…..for now. Also I’ve tried taking the weight off the pin and transferring the weight of the hoe around with no luck. I cant get it in past the inner hook of the implement.

UPDATE. Got the pin back in almost all the way. Id say it was out about 1/8 of an inch. It wouldnt go anymore. Tightened down the lock bolt. Pin popped out shortly after test run.
