On my IH 444 when bush hogging I have to keep my foot on the pto lever, if not it will kick back out. I did this while cutting 4 acres, when I was almost done the pto kept stopping on me, I could push the clutch in and let it back out and the pto would take off again, any ideal what could be wrong?

If I'm not mistaken the PTO on this tractor is a combination of a sliding-sleeve mechanical connection, and a dual-stage clutch.

My guess is that one or more of the various components in the mechanical connection are worn out, and the clutch is slipping. The only way to know for sure what needs to be replaced is to tear into it and look.

Your 444 appears to be an IH Louisville, KY, crate unit. Louisville had slightly modified the PTO engagement lever from the original IH Bradford, UK, design, make sure the PTO engagement lever is not bent and not engaging the PTO collar on the PTO shafts.

The other problem is the splines on the PTO driving shaft become worn and the PTO collar slips out of gear when the PTO is under load.

See the following youtube video, it is for a B414 but 444 has same PTO shafts and collar.
