International 2424 rear remote hydraulics

Hi all,

Recently purchased my first tractor - ih 2424. I was looking over the manuals and would like to run a snowblower at the back. My question is would I be able to run a hydraulic chute with my set up? I see that I have two remote hydraulic lines and have levers to actuate them under the seat. Do I just need to attach one line from each blower or should they both be connected to the same remote? It seems to me that they should both be to the same one but there's pressure relief lines that run to the tank.. can I just tee off that somehow?

it seems to me that i am missing the rear junction ports as pictured below

It appears that both valves are plumbed for a couple gravity-drop cylinders. Those are are supposed to be double-acting valves ; I am in the process of installing them on my 424 and that is what I was told when I bought them.... they are also classified as such in the I-T manual.

We can determine this by removing the male remote coupling from either valve and attaching a hose in this port. Then disconnect the hose from the same valve and plug the tee at the bottom of the reservoir.

Run both hoses into a pail and operate the valve and see if you have pressure at both hoses.

The valves should be fed from the front via a short steel pipe attached to the 3point lift cylinder head/valve assembly.

I think that if you tried to hook a single circuit to the couplers as pictured, you would end up with a hydraulic lock.

Hello Rusty welcome to YT! To clarify, during Fritz’s test moving the lever one way will pressurize or send flow to the top port of the valve with the elbow and hose. Moving it the opposite way will send it to the port that the male quick coupler is screwed in. If it does then if it is not obvious these will be where you will connect your two lines to the double acting chute cylinder.
