International 574 gas won’t start

Hey all! I have an International 574 gasser (1971-1972 i believe) that died on me a couple weeks ago and won’t run again. I checked everything in the fuel system from tank to carb and it won’t even run with starting fluid directly into the intake so I think some type of ignition problem. Plugs and wires are good and fairly new, I am getting a spark from the coil wire so it seems like the coil is good. I am kind of stumped and today after a couple hours messing with it I found that is would sort of start and run a few seconds if I popped the clutch while turning the key. Anyone have any ideas where I should go next? Also it has been upgraded to electronic ignition. Thanks for any input!

Well you need to take the spark plugs out and look at them. See if they are wet with gas. Hold each plug against a ground to see if they spark. Do you feel suction when holding your hand on the intake as you crank the engine? Do you feeel pressure when holding your hand over the exhaust while cranking the engine? Do a compression test if you have the equipment.
Dave.

I pulled all of the plugs, they were a bit fouled but not too bad and not wet. I cleaned them and put them back. Motor does have compression

On compression my thought was the cam not turning. You need to check spark at the plugs. That will eliminate the cap, rotor and points. Also check suction at carburetor and pressure at exhaust while running the starter.

Thanks I will try that tomorrow

NO spark if cam isn't turning!

Are you able to drain gas from the bottom of the carburetor? If not the needle is stuck in the top of the carb. Remove the bowl and pick the needle with a pin to see if it will fall. Ellis
Yes I have drained the carb a couple of times. Gas flows well and it has an electric fuel pump. I also tried carb cleaner and removing the needle as well as replacing the fuel shutoff solenoid and inline filter.

Well I am still baffled. New plugs, cap, rotor, wires. Double checked that the fuel solenoid is still working And still nothing. Only thing left to replace is the coil. Rotor is turning. Don’t really have the tools or know-how to check timing but I can’t see how that could be off since it was running fine when it died. Any other ideas? Anyone want to buy a non-running tractor jk…maybe🤣
