JD 2520 row crop transmission input shaft bearing

I have a JD 2520 row crop tractor split in my shop with a seized motor. I have a 6000 high clearance sprayer, I'm planning to swap out motors. However when I split the tractor I found small ball bearings in the bell housing, back beneath the transmission input shaft. Both throw out bearing are fine. Is there a front bearing in the transmission that is accessible from the bell housing or am I looking at having to go in through the top of the transmission

It's a synchro transmission

Could be from the clutch pilot bearing or left by a careless mechanic from a previous repair that had a grenaded TO bearing.
That reminds me of an 8630 we worked on last year. Perma clutch was slipping so split it do fix that. In the process, I drained the oil from the clutch housing and all kinds of needle bearings, gear teeth, ect came out with the oil. Thought wow, this aint good. While doing the clutch we took the 2 speed assembly apart. Didn't see any damage to any gears. The more I searched inside the more evidence I found that the 2 speed planetary exploded at one time and somebody left a pile of shrapnel inside the clutch housing. I'm guessing it must have happened on the road or in the middle of the field and they didn't take the time to clean out the clutch housing very good when the stuck the new planetary in.

On a side note, this incident is about par for the course with that operation. Let's just say I've seen better equipment in a salvage yard as compared to what these guys run with......
