I have a John Deere 3020 and it leaked the other day out of the steering wheel. And then above the front tire it is leaking a lot. Are they related? How do I fix it? Pictures of leak above tire. Im new to working on these so any help is appreciated.

Two separate issues but in the same system. There are two seals under the steering wheel. You’ll have to use a steering wheel puller to get the steering wheel off, the seals are easy to replace. JD dealer still has the seal Kits in stock, it was less than 20 bucks a month ago.
As far as the front end, can’t really tell by those pictures if the seal in the steering box is leaking. Narrow front end?

Yes narrow front end it’s wet with fluid all above the tire on the right side

Steering motor above front tires could be leaking at seal on spindle or piston plugs that secure the pistons.

Steering valve has a seal that can be replaced under steering wheel by removing steering wheel. IIRC the seal farther down in steering valve requires disassembly of valve body to replace that seal.

Thank you

You're welcome
I was taught at JD branch service schools that the seal further down in valve housing is the seal that actually controls the hyd pressure. That seal replacement requires valve disassembly which then requires adjustment of control valves using a dial indicator. Tim Sweeney AKA Tim S built a test stand just for the purpose of testing operation of JD hyd control valves.

Do you think I could take out the steering motor and give it to John Deere and they would be able to fix it?

Removing steering motor is no simple task. I suggest to support front of tractor using safe blocking. Then remove front axle & center spindle, then R&R the seal. If piston plugs are leaking one can remove the side frame then remove plugs to R&R plug seals. I suggest for you to acquire a JD 3000 series tech manual.

I would pressure wash it good and then look for a leak, there is also a bleed off line from the steering motor that could be leaking, also pull the side screens and look above the hyd pump and the cooler itself as there are hoses that connect them that could also be leaking.

Yes, exactly, clean it up and visually verify the source of the leak (NOT an easy task, I know) before ASSUMING what needs to come apart to be repaired.

You MAY have to safely support the tractor and take off a frame rail to fully clean in that area to observe the source of the leak.

As the gentlemen above have stated, clean her up real good before disassembly. Look on YouTube at some videos of the steering motor seal replacement. No simple task, major disassembly is required.
