JD 456 big idler roll bearing removal

How does the bearing come out? I assume the black is the dust cap. Is it just behind there? I don't think it will slide out real easy like. Also what is that thick inner metal casing...is that just the housing the bearing rides in? Never had the big roller apart before.

One needs to insert bar or pipe under belts to support the belts while roller is to be removed from baler. An overhead crane or lifting apparatus aids with R&R of roller. Then remove hex shaft & utilizing a bar drive failed brg out of roller. Install new brg & dust cap then reinsert hex shaft then reinstall roller into baler.
