All of his trials and tribulations enlightened Me many times as I went thru similar circumstances ,,. All I can Say is JD SELLER is a Great American that knows how to raise Great Americans and form others to be the best they can be

Sorry, I don’t have any contact info for him. If I remember correctly someone had chimed in at some point fairly recently claiming of having contact with him and reported all is well. If you search his post history, your recollection of his departure doesn’t seem to align with anything that was said in his last few posts. Of course there is always the “poof factor” to consider. I seem to recall it was more of a mutiny of sorts. If I recall correctly he and about a dozen others decided to pull up roots. If I remember right they were disgruntled about the following. I think at the time there was a lot of “fluff” posting going on. One particular poster I remember played the forum as “a day in the life of X” on his suburban property which may have included several threads in the same day. Maybe someone else can chime in to support my story or dispute it.

I miss his post he always had interesting stories I enjoyed about his farming practices there were a couple others rrlund and Bill on the farm .it's a shame the Aholes has to ruin it for everyone.

I don't know about that. Bill on the farm is on other forums. I think for some people they reach a point where they feel there is nothing left to say and do not want to go into reruns about their lives. Some may feel other boards hold a greater interest in terms of participation. The internet is no different than the local coffee shop in terms of not always being in agreement and differing personalities plus differing ways of conducting one's self. The internet is not like the house most of us live in with each of us the master of our respective farms and no dissenting word is allowed at all. The internet with all its vastness does get boring after a while and we need a change of pace. I know JD and Bill have enough resources to be engaged in projects such as working on tractors which probably brings greater satisfaction than chatting on the net.

This is a problem that most of us including myself have to remember. People are not always going to accept what we say without question. Then there are those who simply enjoy keeping things stirred up.

I miss him too and thought he contributed allot of good content here on the site. I know he gave me some good advise more than once when I had a question or problem. He more than likely found that there are other sites that are more farmer orientated. I know I did when all the changes on here were made earlier this year and I found this site to be harder for me to navigate and other sites easier more user friendly.

I think that quite a few who used to be here are no longer with us. There were guys here who talked about joining the service around the time of the Korean War which would make them around 90 in 2024. Some live that long or longer but most do not.

I remember one statement that JD Seller stated that I seriously doubt was true. IIRC he stated he never received a payment from Farm Service Agency IE US government. He might not have actually recieved a payment through FSA but I'll guess farm he was closely associated with recieved financial payments from Uncle Sam.

From my own little corner of the US there were several so called conservatives who always claimed they NEVER received any direct payments or in kind from the federal government. Then lists of who received federal payments were published in the area newspapers. Guess who the big collectors of those payments were. Then crickets from these same farmers. It seems improbable given JD's timing into farming and the uphill nature of his individual finances that he could have made it without subsidies. But I would leave room for the possibility he did so because according to him the people who could help him most did so. Usually, from my experience the people who do not collect any government payments are the ones who have not had any major debt in decades. Many decades. That does not describe many farmers in my experience.

I believe I've read this book chapter countless times before here on the forum. No offense to anyone but a guy gets into some kind of a dust up, then he leaves in a huff and vows never to return (that might not have happened in this case, not sure), and then time passes and someone brings his name up and everyone lines up to tell everyone else what a great guy he was and how he is missed. Well, I guess it's no different than telling the YT community about your bum rash or your great uncle's heel spurs .

I've seen that chapter as well. Sometimes they get offended and swear off YT but they come back anyway.

Other times we host this long tearful farewell and then the guy is back next week. It doesn't bother me but just an observation. It's kinda like wishing you could die temporarily just to see who would come to your funeral.
