Ha, that's a good one Fritz. I'm not sure a guy wants to find that out, getting back to where things were before might not work out that well. One of my friends did tell me though a way to make sure your kids and grandkids cry at your funeral. Leave your money to charity, that's a guaranteed way to make sure ....I've seen that chapter as well. Sometimes they get offended and swear off YT but they come back anyway.
Other times we host this long tearful farewell and then the guy is back next week. It doesn't bother me but just an observation. It's kinda like wishing you could die temporarily just to see who would come to your funeral.
I believe I've read this book chapter countless times before here on the forum. No offense to anyone but a guy gets into some kind of a dust up, then he leaves in a huff and vows never to return (that might not have happened in this case, not sure), and then time passes and someone brings his name up and everyone lines up to tell everyone else what a great guy he was and how he is missed. Well, I guess it's no different than telling the YT community about your bum rash or your great uncle's heel spurs .
for the opportunity to post my view on the topic !!!
Yall remember things differently than I do. He may have gotten jumped on a time or 2, but I recall he left to go back into full time farming with his sons, and didnt think he would have time to post anymore going back to full time farming. Maybe that post went haywire since I cant find it, but I do recall him saying that.
His name is Ron I never got his last name. He lives near Cascade IA. I have the email address he was using back in 2016. I won't post it here. I had him on "The Member Map" but he asked to took off and remain private. What you state is true but I never checked his payment record or lack of record.. Yrs ago I knew JD Sellers actual name but it escapes me in my old age.
It took maybe a minute or two to make each post we see here on this thread. The people who claim they do not have time usually have the time and then some. I think that JD figured he ran his course here and was not into tearful good byes. Some people are just the opposite and look for a fight as their daddy told them to never show any weakness. It can be a very strange world with some people.Yall remember things differently than I do. ....and leave your house stuffed with junk that they need to get rid of.Leave your money to charity, that's a guaranteed way to make sure ....
Don't need search terms. Just look up his profile or search on his name.I remember his last post much as John m described. Naturally I can't find it in a search using the in store search engine. Google might be able to find it if I had some good search terms.
Last post was April 12, 2020, and it was about a Case 1570. No tearful goodbye or anything like that.

RIght. Thats why I said maybe the post went haywire. I recall him talking about how much he missed it, yada, yada but I felt he didnt think his sons were capable of keeping the farm going, and was complaning about one of his sons playing on the iphone when he should have been working, and on and on.Don't need search terms. Just look up his profile or search on his name.

It's one thing to spend too much time on the internet when you could be restoring an old tractor or taking the wife to the park. Maybe JD has an excellent working relationship with his sons but most of the time when dad feels he needs to hold on tight considerably into his 70's that speaks of a situation where a father either has control issues or does not believe in his sons. Neither are good for the business.Seek and ye shall find. From a post initiated by JD Seller "State of the Farm Address" Dec 2019
"Now a more personal view of what/how I am going to change some things in my life. The most visible one to YTers is that I will be spending very little time on this site in the future. Prior to this fall harvest I had been spending too much time on the computer/internet."
Nothing wrong with that. I would welcome a return and I do understand that with any one of us that we will not agree 100 percent of the time with one another. Sometimes we even feel the need to be forceful with our thoughts. His last post may have been April 12, 2020 but the last time he was on the site was May 19, 2024 so he is still snooping around every now and then.

He made several comments over the years that made me think just that. It's one thing to spend too much time on the internet when you could be restoring an old tractor or taking the wife to the park.
