John Deere 1360 Wheel Base Width

Does anyone know how wide the wheels sit on a John Deere 1360 cutter.

Trying to see how to get it on the trailer.

If anyone has ever hauled one of these, any advice is appreciated.

Thank You!

Just measure it if you are going to look at it or have the seller give you a measurement. Make sure they understand what you want ,where and why. Big thing will be the high centering issue going up a ramp or down one loading or unloading. Also depending on height and trailer deck height you may need to check over all height to not be over legal height for the area you are in. Most states west of the river are 14ft MN is 13'6" and I think OK or KS is also . I also think I heard KS went to 14 ft. NE is 14'6" Just a fyi for you. Hauled over size all over the country. IL if not over 14 wide no permit needed for Ag equipment Not exceeding 10 ft no permit in WI if you stay off the interstate. These are ag exemptions. No you can't pull an articulated loader for a feedyard and call it ag even though they are going to use it to scrape out cattle pens.

After looking at a picture of a 1360 you will not be able to load it by backing it on a trailer. I would side load it then either swing the tongue or remove it . If you load it it will be come an oversize load needing permits if they set it on cross ways. the reason I say side load it. Back up beside the dock if there is one and put your legs on the trailer down to stabilize the front corner and back it on from the dock then swing or remove the tongue. IT will get you close to the width of the trailer. I would let it down to operating position so the wheels are not trying to roll then put a couple chains on from each side loosely to hold it from rolling off then check position and final tightening. then probably need to remove tongue to be even close to legal. If you just pull it with the pickup it would not be an oversize load and nobody will probably bother you with the tongue swung in.

I trailered my Hesston 1014 about 700mi on a flatbed trailer. Swung the tongue sideways, after they loaded it with a pair of forklifts.

My Hesston is a center pivot, so it was just a matter of disconnecting the cylinder, and removing the snap ring on the pivot shaft in order to lift the tongue enough to swing it IIRC. On yours, you might have to remove the tongue, dunno.

The Hesston was just short enough, front to back, that it didn't hang over the trailer.

I chained the axles. Chains pulling side to side (two chains, and binders each axle). The header was strapped down solid against the trailer deck. The tongue was long enough to allow it to be chained/strapped to the gooseneck.

Balance was pretty tricky when loading/unloading. It will want to tip forward. We used the second forklift under the tongue to stabilize it until it was on the deck, and I could swing the tongue over the gooseneck. They lifted, and I backed under it.

It was pretty uneventful. Luckily the riggers at the auction had handled plenty of this type of machine before. They knew exactly what to do. Thanks to their expertise, all I had to do was duplicate their method when unloading.

Let me know if you need the measurment. I have a 1360. However as stated it is over width for a trailer. Either tow it or it has to go on sideways and tongue removed. Cutterbar is 9'9". then excess material beyond that. Tires estimated is 8 ft width
