I can't understand why ball joints on draglink would be orientated incorrectly because on all JD utility tractors that utilized a draglink built from '65-'82 I can think of had same type steering arm & bellcrank. I suppose because in todays world a lot of parts are "almost right". After viewing 2040 parts catalog for late model 2040 I can understand why JD parts person could be confused. Using item 18 one should correct be able to correct any tie rod orientation problems.
