John deere 410b oil pressure

Hey guys I have a jd 410b with a 219 diesel. Is there an adjustment for the oil pressure? My pressure when i start up is around 35 and when warm it's down to almost 0 using 15-40 oil. Would a pretty good leak in my pan gasket cause this? I've done so much work on this engine and hope it's not bearings. This tractor starts right up and runs great. Thanks

The only way I see an oil pan leak causing the pressure drop is if you let it leak until it is out of oil. It sounds like a good bit of pump and bearing wear. First, and easy, check is to check the pressure with a master gauge to see if there is an issue with the gauge in your 410B.

There are things to check that are more than just look & see, they have defined procedures. You need the 2-volume technical manual set for your 410B. TM1468 Test & Operation (for what and how to check things) and TM1469 Repair (actual repair after testing and operational checks). I suggest shopping eBay as the pair of manuals run about $400 from JD. You could call them, but it does not appear that the YT store has reprints of them.

Thanks jim. The oil light came on so I bought a new gauge to check pressure. Can the bearings be replaced while engine still in tractor? I will purchase a master gauge and books. Thanks again.

Is you new gauge electric or mechanical? If mechanical, this doesn't sound good.

Rod bearings can be. Rear main and center main maybe. Front main would require stripping the front of the engine, as there is a metal block under the front main that is welded to the plate, behind all the gears, on the front of the block. Oil pump has to be removed to get to at least the #1 rod. And that can let one balance shaft rotate out of sync. Oil pump could be worn as well, which can lead to some plumbing upgrades for the newer replacement engine oil pump.

I think that is right, it's been a while, and I doubt it will be easy for you. Others may be along with better info for you.

Thanks guys, that's not what I wanted to hear. I need those books before I do anything. Can the oil pressure be adjusted? Oh and mechanical oil gauge I have

I don't think adjustment will cure your problem. The Test manual will explain the system, checks, and any adjustment you might try.
