John Deere Planter ID

I recently bought this planter and have used it to plant sweet corn and green beans successfully but I am unsure on the model of it. I would like to get a manual for it. Any help identifying it would be appreciated. Thank You!

Maybe a 294a, with model 71 seed units? I didn't Google it, but might give you a starting place.

Looks like a # 6 Lister planter. It appears to have been converted to 3 point, and minus the markers, lift mechanism, and fertilizer cans. I refurbed this one a few years back, it was also missing the fertilizer section.

No model 294A appears in JD parts. My experience with older 3pt hitch planters is very limited.

I have no idea what model but the units could have come from any number of sizes from 2-8 row planter and mounted on that frame. I'm mlidly looking for a 4 row unit for sweet corn planting then would not need to fool around like we are now for it. I'm cheap so not going to pay big money for it. Not more than a 100.00 for some thing and less is better. A 4 row would be easier to work with fore me than dealing with trying to hitch up some 3pt contraption.

Your planter is a JD no-6 or 7 lister planter converted to three point, no markers-no fertlizer!
