Kubota owners manual says the battery discharges a half percent per day.

I haven't used my 5 year old kubora in about a month. 38 degrees and the original battery was complaining when I started it this morning.
I put a smart charger on it that will not overcharge. It will maintain the battery.
I'm planning to replace the battery with an AGM battery.
I got the best price for an AGM battery from Summit racing. It was $100 cheaper than any local auto parts store.
Do you know who has cheaper AGM batteries? Not interested in wet cells, only AGMs.
I think 5 years is long enough, I may get a few more months keeping it on a charger.
Thanks in advance for any advice on the Cheapest AMGs..

Likely Amazon, paid for with gift cards from Kroger so you can get gas points as well.

Edit: Sorry, just saying those are two things I think you would take into account. If they work for you great.

I usually get 8-10 years from modern 12V batteries.

No, I do not allow them to self-discharge much during periods of non-use.

If the battery is shipped dry with an acid pack. Follow the instructions to a T..
Have witnessed a lot of AGM batteries being damaged by people just adding acid and hooking them to a charger. Or adding more acid than called for. It takes a good 24 or more hours for the acid to fully soak into the mats before they are safe to charge. Rushing can and will damage the battery and shorten it's life greatly.

Weize makes some decent cheap AGM batteries.

Not everyone takes gift cards.
Some places I have to use CC cards.
It would be nice if people just answer the question.
A troll said I couldn't read because I didn't respond to the question, I responded to the title of the question.
I know you were just poking fun. Would be nice if people could answer my question.

Mule Meat recommended a Weize battery that is sold by Amazon. Go figure. :D
I never heard of Weize before.
Amazon also sells Delco batteries at the same price Summit racing.
So I may buy a Delco from Amazon and use Amazon Gift cards which keeps my CC information Off the internet.
A few days ago a scammer with an Indian accent told me my Amazon CC was hacked. I know better I don't have an Amazon CC.
And my Amazon order list showed no $3500 charge.

Thank for your recommendation. I never heard of Weize batteries before. I googled weize batteries and Amazon sells them.
The price is competitive to Summit Racing for a 36 month battery.
I ran a wire outside the hood of the tractor to connect the charger. I'll have to see what size battery will fit. I remember it isn't a big battery.
I will keep my old battery on a charger 24/7.
I have no way to use my conductivity testers without opening the hood, which is a pain with the loader,
I did a quick google and couldn't find where the weize battery is made.

Short of this bitter cold you should get 10 years + out of that original battery , I would not jump in a buy another one just yet

Jim
If the battery was in my car I would replace it before going to Florida.
The tractor won't leave me stranded on the interstate, so it will remain on a charger when not in use.
I will give you a shout on my return trip to Indiana in mid February and see if we can meet up for lunch or do a coffee and donut in Clarksville.
I'll let you pick where.

I don't know what the vintage is on your Kubota. But if it's modern, it probably has onboard digital stuff........which means a computer somewhere.

The bad thing about PCM's, and other stuff, is what's called KAM..........Keep Alive Memory. Your PCM maintains the data it last "saw".......this requires power. That power comes from the battery 24/7

Jiangsu Weize Motor Locomotive Products Manufacturing Co., Ltd..

They have factories in China and Germany.

"Thanks in advance for any advice on the Cheapest AMGs.." You only want cheap USA made?
When possible, I want to buy things made in America
I want to see more things made in America . More factories moving back to America., which benefits everyone from the workers to supporting our tax system.
No one pays Income taxes on things not made in AMERICA.
Each to their own. Do what makes you happy. I will pay more to buy a battery made in the USA>

Long winter for you perhaps
I'm heading south to watch the sunrise over lake Eustis in a few days.
I'm looking ahead. I will need a new battery sooner or later.
I want an AGM and hopefully one made in the USA>
Do you have any recommendations or is your reply just an indication it is a long winter for you? LOL.

I've only bought one AGM battery from summit racing. So far so good, It was an OEM Delco.

AC Delco Battery Brand Origin

AC Delco is a brand that has a long history in the automotive industry. It is owned by General Motors (GM), one of the leading automobile manufacturers in the world. AC Delco batteries were initially developed to provide power solutions for GM vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Originating in the United States, AC Delco has become a trusted and well-known brand for its association with GM and the quality of its products. Over the years, AC Delco has expanded its battery offerings to cater to a wide range of vehicles and applications, making it a popular choice among car owners.

I trust GM an American owned company. I don't care where they get the parts to make batteries. So far I'm leaning towards an AGM Delco unless someone comes up with a better American owned company.

My kubota is 5 years old. Bought it new in 2019. L3560. Only has 155 hours on it. It spends more time sitting in the pole barn than running.

I have that problem with a 2019 Subaru Legacy. If it sets for 5 days its no start. Factory issued a a warranty extension to supposedly fix it. Had it done but I think the problem is still there. Before the extension I had local shop diagnose it at my cost and recommended pulling the PCM fuse. Problem fixed.

The battery on my 2007 is 3.5 years old maintenance free battery. I have to keep a charger on it when not in use. It only has a 50 ma drain.
That is why I'm going to replace my Kubota battery with an AGM.
